The Authority of the Port System of the Ionian Sea has concluded the instructional process of release of the granting of the Logistic Platform in favour of the society Vestas Blades Italy Srl. This is a strategic infrastructure for the management and assembly of wind components, marking a decisive step in the path of strategic and sustainable development of the Port of Taranto.

The granting, which covers an area of approximately 132,000 square metres, will have a duration of nine years. The use of the Logistics Platform represents for Vestas a fundamental support to the new production line of wind blades for the V236 super turbine of 15 MW, with "blades" up to 115.5 meters long.

The granting will enable the Company to efficiently manage the logistics of these components, integrating maritime transport with rail and assembly activities by strengthening thus, the strategic role of the port of Taranto as an intermodal hub serving renewable energies.

Proel Engineering Srl alongside Vestas: contract signed
Proel Engineering Srl will officially support Vestas in this ambitious project, thanks to the contract already signed between the two companies.
